On Oct. 4 and 5 the picturesque Historical Shaw neighborhood hosted its 16th annual art fair. The weekend event exhibited work from 135 artists from across the United States. The fair was an open-air exhibit displaying various artistic genres and styles.

TV network mtvU, MTV's college-centered channel seen on more than 700 college campuses, recently announced the nominees for its fifth annual Woodie Awards, special tributes honoring the best in music as voted on by college students from across the country.

People are often affected by the subject matter of a play or film that they see. I was affected by the play "The Laramie Project" when I was 15, but I didn't see it. I was in it. During my freshman year at San Ysidro High School, I heard about auditions for a production of "The Laramie Project" presented by Involving Minds in Peaceful Actions to Bring Communities Together.
'Blue Leaves' is worth seeing

From director Larry Charles (Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation Kazakhstan) comes the next great comedic documentary, Religulous (Lionsgate). Religulous is a documentary of sorts featuring Bill Maher (TV's "Real Time with Bill Maher" and "Politically Incorrect") that follows the comedian around the world for a scathing look at religion and the religious fanatics who promote their agendas.
