Former SGA presidents: Where are they now?

Every year the student body elects a new president to represent the students and to lead Saint Louis University's Student Government Association. They run the meetings of the SGA Senate every Wednesday and serve as liaisons between students and the university administrators. Of course, all good things must come to end, so we wonder, where are our former SGA presidents now?
Cari Johns
A new face took the seat as SGA president during the 2005-2006 school year. Cari Johns was not only the first female president in SGA's recent history, but she was also a junior during her term; this is unusual for an SGA president, as they normally serve during their senior year of undergraduate studies.
"I am glad to have been SGA president my junior year even with all the challenges that came with it because I was able to enjoy my senior year and be active in other organizations," Johns said.
After her graduation, Johns began working on Capital Hill for Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who serves Tennessee's 7th Congressional District and is currently campaigning for re-election. Johns focuses on managing Blackburn's office and coordinating her schedule. However, she also travels, sits in on meetings and handles press-related issues. Johns also teaches Sunday school classes at a Jesuit church in Georgetown, a neighborhood in Washington, D.C.
Evan Krauss
Evan Krauss led SGA during the 2006-2007 school year. His time as SGA president emphasized diversity and involvement in the greater St. Louis community.
Krauss describes his life since graduation as "blessed."
"The past year has been filled with a myriad of life lessons, each of which I have learned from," said Krauss.
After earning his degree, Krauss began working as an assistant to St. Louis City License Collector Michael McMillan. Krauss said that he views McMillan as his mentor and admires his "philanthropic nature and sincere love for the community."
He also began the master of social work program at Washington University in St. Louis
After working in City Hall, Krauss interned with the Diversity Awareness Partnership to organize the Dream Keepers' Fair. The fair took place last April on Compton Avenue between SLU and Harris-Stowe State University; Krauss described it as an effort to unite the St. Louis community for the sake of racial harmony and justice. After the fair, Krauss was offered a position at United Way of Greater St. Louis, where he is now a volunteer center manager.
Krauss said that meeting his fiancée, fellow social worker Stephanie Kilstein, was the "biggest blessing" to his life.
He said that he takes great joy in planning the wedding, which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12.
Andrew Clifton
The latest SGA president to complete his term was Andrew Clifton. During the 2007-2008 school year, Clifton's administration set the groundwork for a space for Rainbow Alliance and Una and planned the opening festivities for the Chafeitz Arena. Clifton recently graduated and is now living in Houston teaching and coaching wrestling at his alma mater high school, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.
Before beginning his teaching job, he had interned at Weingarten Realty Investors, a commercial realty firm.
"[In the future, I want to] work in commercial real estate, probably buy a house in a year and maybe plan to do a little traveling, maybe to Europe," Clifton said.
Clifton said that one of the most important things he learned at SLU was how "to work together with others."

Cari works on "Capital" Hill? I hear there are a lot of big letters just walking around there.
In other recent news, the UNEWS announced its vacancy of an entire copy editing team. (Continued…)
