Student left with unicycle after theft

Today I woke up and got ready for the day. I called my boyfriend to ask him if he wanted to go to brunch at Café Nadoz. Very expensive, but so worth it!
It [was] a beautiful day so I decided to ride my bike. I walked around the building of Marchetti East where I lock my bike up. There was my bike, all locked up. However, the front wheel was not there.
This is the first time anyone has stolen something physical from me, that I know of.
I know it's just a bicycle wheel, but I still do feel violated. I was always told to lock my bike around the frame and back wheel, as these are the two most expensive parts.
The bicycle store told me today this happens a lot, and to actually lock up the frame and the front wheel, as the back wheel is much harder to steal.
I would like to think that at Saint Louis University, I can safely lock my bike up behind my current residence worry free. Apparently not. I am not blaming DPS or the students, but more of the community at SLU.
I cannot fathom why anyone would steal anything. If anyone has worked for their money, a job big or small, they should know how it feels to earn and to cherish what you earn.
I believe people who steal things have no pride in themselves, their possessions, or their work whatever it might be. The thief could of [sic] at least grown a pair and stolen my entire bike. But whoever it was, thank you for leaving the wrench and top screw for me to fasten my new wheel on.

I saw your letter to the editor and I want to help. I know you feel somewhat violated by having your wheel stolen and since you were on your way to Nadoz for brunch I want to treat you to brunch. (Continued…)
