Search begins for new Director of Housing and Residence Life

Twelve years after he started working at Saint Louis University, Director of Housing and Residence Life Argyle Wade will be relocating to the University of Wisconsin Madison to serve as the associate dean of students. "It hasn't seemed like 12 years," said Wade, who first began working in housing as a desk worker during his freshman year at Truman State University.
Fire at 'Rock' Church

St. Alphonsus Ligouri "Rock" Catholic Church-a historic Gothic structure noted for its exuberant services and diverse congregation-was devastated by a fire last week. Located near Saint Louis University's campus and frequented by some of its students, the church's interior suffered extensive damage and is currently unusable.

Patankar becomes Parks College dean

A new dean is in charge of Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology. Manoj Patankar, Ph.D., became the permanent dean of Parks College at the end of last semester. Patankar assumed the position after serving as interim dean since September 2006.
Parks grad makes leap to shuttle mission

A Saint Louis University graduate's career has quite literally reached atmospheric heights over the summer. Kelly Beck, who graduated summa cum laude from SLU's Parks College in 1988 with a degree in aerospace engineering, was selected by NASA as lead flight director for June's Atlantis shuttle mission.
