On Feb. 12, an 18-year-old Saint Louis University student was the victim of a hit-and-run at 3700 Lindell Blvd.

The victim, a female, was crossing the intersection of Lindell and Spring with two friends after leaving the Coronado apartments when she stepped into the eastbound lane and was struck. The driver continued east.

The 911 call came in at 2:50 a.m. According to Jack Titone, chief of the Department of Public Safety, by the time DPS responded to the call, the St. Louis City Police, Emergency Medical Services and the St. Louis Police Department's Accident Reconstruction team were already on the scene.

Witnesses reported the car as a newer model Toyota Camry, either gold or tan. The Detective Bureau is investigating the crime and so far has no leads as to the identity or whereabouts of the driver.

The student was admitted to SLU Hospital early Saturday morning in extremely critical condition.

She remains at SLU Hospital in critical, but stable, condition.
