Lisch appears OK after tailbone injury in exhibition game

Senior guard Kevin Lisch appears to be OK after leaving the game last Wednesday against Harris Stowe. Lisch was fouled after trying to save the ball from going out and landed on his back approximately two minutes into the game. He hit the ground hard, was helped off the court by Saint Louis University trainers and left the game for X-rays.

Obama: The 44th President

Sen. Barack Obama was elected as the 44th president of the United States Tuesday evening. Cheers echoed across Saint Louis University's Frost Campus as Obama crossed the threshold of 270 electoral votes to clinch the presidency. The first-ever on-campus polling place was deemed a "huge success" by Dean of Students Scott Smith, who estimated that close to 1,000 SLU students voted on Tuesday.

The University News has confirmed that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will headline a rally for the Republican Party at Chaifetz Arena on Thursday, Oct. 2, immediately following her debate with Sen. Joe Biden at Washington University in St. Louis. Amy Kaufman, president of the College Republicans at Saint Louis University, said, while the event is aimed at the citywide community, members of the SLU community are encouraged to attend.

Daniel Modic’s SLU memorial service to be held next week

Phi Delta Theta and the Department of Campus Ministry are holding a Mass of Remembrance for Daniel Modic, the SLU sophomore who died on May 16. It will be held in St. Francis Xavier College Church at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The entire University community is welcome to attend.
